I always advise students to add phrasal verb + formal term to their study note books along with medical terms. New phrasal verbs appear regularly- as the world is changing very fast, we need new terms and phrasal verbs are one way of doing this. Often hen I hear a new phrasal verb, I can work about the meaning from the context. You don't really need to worry about memorizing them, but you need to know that they exist so that you can recognize them in context. The other problem with phrasal verbs is that one phrasal verb may have several meanings and it's only by looking at the context that we can tell which meaning it has in any situation. Here are some phrasal verbs commonly seen in a business context, both in conversation and in written correspondence, such as e-mails and company memos. The five most common verbs used in phrasal verbs are: get, come, go, take and put. Many non-natives work in a business environment and are used to hearing many of these phrasal verbs, understanding them in context. Of all the particles following phrasal verbs, down is often one of the easiest to predict. It's also a good idea to add a sentence to put the phrasal verb in context.
